Modes of Study

Student Information 1

All teaching in CCHE accredited courses is done by distance education. A course refers to to the program of study, for example, BEd, MEd, MEd (Leadership). Courses are divided into units which are the individual subjects studied. Click here for more information on the courses taught by NICE.

Unit materials, online forums and other resources are accessed throughNICEOnline, NICE's content management system. The development of professional learning communities is encouraged.

Students are responsible for the purchase of their own textbooks. A list of the textbooks required for a unit is found on the unit registration form and in the unit outlines. Since the textbook list changes periodically it is important for students to ensure that they have the current list. It is also important to ensure that the edition, not just the title of each textbook matches the unit requirements. Textbooks are ordered directly through the Co-op Bookshop. For an order form click here.(If you are not currently studying with NICE you will have to log in as a guest to access this page.)

As well as the CCHE accredited courses that NICE teaches, NICE is involved in many face-to-face conferences, seminars and workshops some of which can partially fulfill requirements for units in accredited study through recognition of prior learning. Click here for more details of programs offered.

Enrolment and Registration

Enrolment refers to being admitted to a course. Once enrolled, students register for the units they wish to study. Pleaseclick herefor more information about enrolment and registration policies and procedures including unit extensions, deferrals and transfers.

Alternative Credit Pathways

CCHE is committed to the dual principles of maintaining the highest academic standards that are at least equivalent to those in current Australian public universities, while providing the shortest possible route to the desired award by the recognition of prior learning (RPL) and advanced standing wherever this is consistent with these standards. Pleaseclick herefor more information about advanced standing for three-year trained principals and recognition of prior learning opportunities including professional development units and obtaining credit for postgraduate studies in other recognised tertiary institutions.
