Leadership Development

Leadership development and nurture is crucial in your school. We are excited about our leadership professional development courses and programs.

Apollo 13 and Leadership (Intermediate Certificate of Christian Education)
This is a one (or two) day course for leaders and developing leaders exploring the principles of leadership from a biblical perspective using the Apollo 13 mission as stimulus. This course involves a practical school based follow-up collaborative activity.

ED560 Leadership: Vision and Mission
This is a course that is run in our postgraduate program that explores the research into effective educational leadership as well exploring a biblical perspective of leadership that is shaped by the gospel of the Lord Jesus

Developing Leaders Conference (a Donvale Christian School initiative)
A conference is held in a different capital city each year designed for those in leadership and those aspiring to leadership. Ever spoken to a colleague who has come back from this conference; they rave.

NEW: Quality Leadership Project
This is a collaborative project that involves a small team of educational leaders that gather to nurture and encourage the leadership of a school. These leaders may then join a similar team to work collaboratively at another school. We are excited about the rich opportunities that this project may unfold for the kingdom and Christian schooling. Stay tuned for more details.

What Students Say

  • I found study with the Institute extremely valuable and effective in prompting changes, reflections and constructive self assessment in my teaching practices within the context of the Gospel.
  • This was an excellent course. I wish I had done it much earlier on as it lays down the foundation for understanding the history and purpose of Christian education. I would recommend it.
  • It never fails to amaze me how, as I study each Institute course, I come to certain realisations about areas of my teaching that I need to modify/change. Areas that I have been 'blind' to are highlighted through the study material and I have an opportunity to make adjustments that potentially could result in improved ways of teaching for me, and improved ways of learning for my students as I consider their learning needs to a far greater extent.
