Yes, the National Institute for Christian Education has a third party arrangement with Morling College to offer postgraduate courses in education.   Morling College is registered with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) as a Higher Education provider and the education postgraduate courses are accredited by TEQSA.

The National Institute for Christian Education provides non-accredited professional development for teachers and others involved in Christian schools in Australia.

Yes, we offer a MEd(Leadership) which gives special focus to education leadership.

The units studied in the MEd(Leadership) course cover some aspects of educational administration. In some cases assessment tasks can be customised to students current education contexts.

Yes, students can receive credit for up to 50 percent of their course if no accredited qualification has been received for the study for which they are seeking Recognition of Prior Learning. For a previously accredited qualification, students may be granted up to 25 percent credit into their course. Please see the Advanced Standing Policy for further details.

The National Institute for Christian Education is committed to the premise that the Bible, and especially the integrating event of the gospel of Jesus Christ, need to shape our view of all things. Engagement with educational ideas and issues is approached from the perspective of a biblical view of the world encouraging critical and biblical thought in the area of education.

The courses are taught online (distance education) though supporting seminars are held from time to time at various locations around Australia and sections of some units may be taught face-to-face within New South Wales.

The National Institute for Christian Education courses have been written from a reformational perspective of the scriptures with an emphasis on the importance of recognising and critiquing from a biblical perspective, the worldview assumptions involved in education. Our goal is to encourage educators to be committed disciples of Jesus Christ who will apply the gospel as it is expounded in all of the scriptures to their teaching tasks.

Yes, professional development courses and seminars are run in schools upon request.

Yes, we encourage teachers to work together as a cohort within their local setting. This may be particularly helpful where a local, National Institute for Christian Education trained educator is available to coordinate the study.

Yes, the National Institute for Christian Education courses offered via distance education are delivered online through our online learning portal.

Our courses are not specifically geared towards homeschoolers but many of the units would be of use in helping Christian homeschoolers to understand their task. The Certificate in Christian Education would be a valuable starting point for any Christian homeschooling parent.

Our online courses may be studied anywhere where there is access to the internet.

Yes, we have an extensive library/resource centre specialising in the areas of philosophy, education and educational philosophy with in-depth coverage of these topics from a biblical, Reformational perspective in a contemporary context.

Not necessarily. We offer an MEd(Leadership) degree course that may be studied by anyone with a three year undergraduate degree in any discipline. This is not a teaching qualification.

Our courses are fully accredited within Australia. They are recognised by Australian tertiary institutions. Overseas institutions should be contacted regarding their policies.

Yes, the Institute offers flexible learning over three semesters. Students can start in any one of these three semesters.

Attending, writing or presenting professional development may be counted as credit towards your study with the Institute. For more information about Professional Development Units click here.

No, we would encourage auxiliary staff, school board members and others from the school community to study in our accredited program, certificate course or attend our other professional development courses.

Sometimes this is referred to as auditing a unit. Unfortunately, you are not able to audit the units/courses.

The National Institute is not involved in bringing overseas nationals to Australia on student visas for the purpose of study.
