Our Conferences

During the year, the National Institute for Christian Education staff take part in a number of conferences across Australia and around the world in addition to those listed below.

Our recent International Transforming Education Conference was a wonderful time of inspiration, learning, professional development and community building. We trust that God was glorified, His son worshipped, the Spirit was active and that Christian education was nurtured in this country and others.

If you were one of the over 1100 people who descended on Darwin for the week, thank you for helping make it such an enriching time.

National Transforming Education Conference
The National Institute for Christian Education is involved, along with Christian Education National, in organising this conference for parents, teachers and board members predominantly within the Christian Education National network of schools. The conference is usually held in January every two years and generally involves international speakers.

Visiting Scholar Conferences

From time to time the National Institute for Christian Education, either individually or partnering with other organisations will convene conferences that feature notable international scholars. In the past these have included Os Guiness, Rikk Watts, Al Wolters and Mike Goheen.

What Students Say

  • I found study with the Institute extremely valuable and effective in prompting changes, reflections and constructive self assessment in my teaching practices within the context of the Gospel.
  • This was an excellent course. I wish I had done it much earlier on as it lays down the foundation for understanding the history and purpose of Christian education. I would recommend it.
  • It never fails to amaze me how, as I study each Institute course, I come to certain realisations about areas of my teaching that I need to modify/change. Areas that I have been 'blind' to are highlighted through the study material and I have an opportunity to make adjustments that potentially could result in improved ways of teaching for me, and improved ways of learning for my students as I consider their learning needs to a far greater extent.
