The National Institute for Christian Education is the teacher training arm of its owner, Christian Education National. However, students enrol from a variety of contexts. For the degree programs, and for the purpose of government accreditation, the Institute is a teaching agent of Morling College Ltd.
The Council
The controlling body of the national Institute for Christian Education is a council consisting of up to seven members and a non voting Institute Principal. Five members are appointed for three-year terms by the Board of Christian Education National, with three members from the Board itself. In addition, the council may also appoint up to two members for three-year terms.
Academic Planning and Review Committee
The Academic Planning and Review Committee (APRC) of the National Institute for Christian Education has substantial input into course design and structure as well as providing a forum for making recommendations on policy matters directly related to the educational process. Students and lecturers have input through membership of the APRC and through unit evaluations submitted at the end of each trimester.
APRC is made up of academic staff from within the National Institute for Christian Education, knowledgeable and independent academics from similar institutions in the public arena, and representatives from the community served by the National Institute for Christian Education.
